More About Me
Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...
In addition to my full-time nanny roles, I’ve volunteered with the Big Brothers Big Sisters program and the Girl Scouts, where I mentored and supported children through organized activities and one-on-one guidance. I’ve also served as a summer camp counselor, leading group games, crafts, and outdoor exploration. These experiences, combined with growing up in a large family of 14, gave me hands-on experience juggling multiple children’s needs, personalities, and developmental stages—long before I became a professional nanny.
Activities I enjoy doing with children...
Outdoor adventures like nature walks, park playdates, and water games are some of my favorites. I also love getting creative with kids through crafts, baking, storytelling, and imaginative play. Whether we're building a fort, dancing to music, doing a themed scavenger hunt, or exploring a new museum, I enjoy turning everyday moments into fun, meaningful experiences that spark curiosity and joy. I also enjoy helping with homework, reading together, and teaching life skills like cooking or organizing—all while encouraging independence and confidence.
The most important part about being a nanny...
For me, the most important part of being a nanny is building trust and connection—with both the children and their families. It’s about creating a safe, loving space where kids feel seen, heard, and valued. Children thrive when they feel supported emotionally, mentally, and physically, and I believe in being a steady, nurturing presence in their lives. Whether it's teaching life skills, guiding them through big emotions, or simply making them laugh after a tough day, being a nanny means showing up fully and helping shape a child’s world in the best way possible.
My experience with special needs children...
I’ve had the privilege of working closely with children who have a variety of special needs, including autism spectrum disorder and medical needs such as feeding tubes and G-tubes. I’ve supported children during therapy sessions—both behavioral and physical—and have experience following detailed care plans with patience, precision, and compassion. I understand the importance of consistency, sensory awareness, and individualized communication, and I take pride in creating a calm, supportive environment that helps each child feel safe, empowered, and understood.
The most important part about being a nanny...
One of my favorite moments was helping a shy 4-year-old learn how to ride a bike for the first time. We practiced every afternoon for weeks, and the day he finally took off on his own, he yelled, “Miss Jenaya, I’m flying!” The pure joy on his face—and the proud look on his parents’—reminded me why I love what I do. Moments like that, where confidence blooms and a child feels unstoppable, are truly priceless. It’s those little victories that make this work so special.
