More About Me
Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...
My experience includes working in a childcare centre, primarily with preschool-aged children (2–5 years old), as well as some experience with infants and toddlers. I also have previous nannying and babysitting experience, including helping with meals, playtime, daily routines and bedtime. I enjoy creating a fun, safe and nurturing environment where children feel comfortable, supported and encouraged to learn and grow!
Activities I enjoy doing with children...
I especially enjoy arts and crafts, colouring, reading books and getting creative with children. I love spending time outdoors, going on walks, visiting parks and finding fun activities to do outside the house. I also believe in following each child’s interests and letting their curiosity guide our activities, while encouraging them to explore, learn and have fun!
The most important part about being a nanny...
The most important part about being a nanny is being someone a child can count on. It’s about being present, getting down on the floor to play, joining in on their ideas, celebrating their little accomplishments and making even ordinary days exciting. I think the best nannies are the ones who genuinely enjoy being part of a child’s everyday world, not just watching over them.
My experience with special needs children...
I have approximately three months of experience working with autistic children in a preschool classroom. I’ve had the opportunity to support children with limited verbal communication, different sensory needs and individual routines. I enjoy getting to know each child’s personality, building trust and finding ways to connect with them at their own pace.
The most important part about being a nanny...
One of my favourite moments is when we’re outside making pretend soups, salads and cupcakes using leaves, dirt, rocks, sand and different colours. I love watching children use their imaginations and turn simple things from nature into something of their own. It always brings me back to being a kid and making little “potions” outside myself. I love being able to join in, get creative and see the world through their eyes!
