She took the kids to and from school, tutored them, took them on field trips during school holidays and on occasion even filled in for doctor visits when I was unable to take off of work. In addition to meeting the kids' needs she assisted with keeping the kids' areas clean and at times would get dinner started due to my erratic work schedule."

She was professional and playful. She taught my children so much and made sure they were inline for all the major and minor milestones! I wish I'd had more children just so we could keep her! When she started, we had just 1 infant and I was very nervous about returning to work. Jen made the transition so smooth and after only a few weeks, I knew that my baby was in the best hands when she couldn't be in mine. She stayed with us for 7 years and 3 children until I was relocated for work. Aside from being a career nanny and raising 6 children of my own, I have watched friend's children many times over the years and I've enjoyed watching a few of my now grown nanny kid's children!!

Spending time outside; nature is a fantastic teacher and there are so many lessons to be found!! I enjoy going to play places, the park and the library with the children I work with. Listening to and singing music, creating art and making crafts (kiwi kits are AWESOME!!) Special visits to museums, the planetarium and the science place are also fun!! I'm an avid reader and make sure to carve out time to read with the children every day.
The most important part about being a nanny...
Helping children feel good about themselves and who they are as growing humans. Having open communication with the parents so that we work in tandem is a must for me!
