Hi, Jessica Reaux here! I am a recent graduate w/ a bachelors in psychology seeking likeminded jobs like the babysitting jobs I’ve done. I’ve worked in hospital majority of my adulthood and branched out into this field late last year. I am eager to help out anyone needing the extra push around the city. I’ve worked in the children unit in the hospital and also small babysitting jobs around the city.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

I’m a reader and I adore reading to anyone (I used to also read to me geriatric patients). I also like to see how children play with their toys because it tends to relate to their life and how they’re feeling. It gives me signs on how we can better communicate with each other.

The most important part about being a nanny...

I feel the most important thing about being a nanny has got to be the proper help. Everyone wants something different and you have to be able to incorporate what different people want. One might want their child to explore their life with toys and fully enjoy the experience while some may want their child to learn more skills. A family might want an extended family and another may want you to what is needed and go. The thing about it is you run into so many people who all want different things from nannies but all in total, they really want the same thing: someone to have genuine interest in their children and to keep them safe when they are away.

My experience with special needs children...

I’ve worked with one. This one was a bit older, maybe 25, and would sometimes become violent with his tempers. I used things he adored to distract him from his anger and introduced better ways to handle pressure or “no’s”.

The most important part about being a nanny...

I love seeing and hearing laughter. Knowing the children love what I do and also the parents. It’s a fulfilling moment when the day goes well for everyone.
