I'm currently a part-time assistant infant teacher at the Jean Tyson Child Development Study Center in Fayetteville, AR (I do have a a full year of experience as a nanny of infants/toddlers, and another year of being a lead teacher in an infant/toddler room as well). I'm also a student, my degree is in Birth-Kindergarten Development. I graduate and obtain my ECE teaching license this May and will move to Colorado after graduation. In my degree plan, and my career, I learn how children develop from all facets beginning at birth to age 5. Those aspects are: Cognitive, physical, social/emotional, and language development. Based on evidence I see, using the Reggio Emilia teaching approach , I plan experiences and practice interactions in specific ways that will encourage healthy growth. I also develop portfolios to make all this development easier to see to the untrained eye. There's truly nothing more special than bonding with a little one and helping them grow to their full potential!
Activities I enjoy doing with children...
I enjoy doing just about anything with children! In regards to infants, floor time plays a big role in their development so I love to be on the floor next to them singing songs, reading books, and just talking to them to also encourage babbling which plays into their oral language development! Aside from floor time, I love swimming! I even took swimming lessons with a young toddler I nannied a couple years ago, it was a blast and so cool to see her learn so much! I also love going on walks, and coming up with creative ideas of how to explore concepts such as light and shadows as they grow into toddlerhood!

My favorite moment across all children that I have cared for has to be the smiles and excitement I'm greeted with each morning! There's nothing better than knowing you have made that child feel safe and loved, therefore they're excited to see you!
