Activities I enjoy doing with children...
Nature walks, reading good books, playing catch, swimming, introducing them to new things, watching them learn.
The most important part about being a nanny...
To me, the most important part of a nanny's job is #1.) keeping kids safe and #2.) engaging with them relationally.
I recall a time when I was a child and my mother had to work. She had nowhere to take me so I ended up at a daycare in someone's home. It was several women who watched t.v. all day and told us kids to stay outside. It was awful! I hated that place and thankfully my mom never took me back there.
When I raised my own kids, I strictly limited screen time, preferring to engage with them in play or include them in whatever I'm doing, or even give them free time to play, but always remained available to them at all times.
I like to give them opportunities to explore and learn, whatever their level of understanding is.

The most important part about being a nanny...
My favorite part about spending time with kids is to see them enjoy learning and discovering new things. One of my favorite memories is teaching a thin-framed, young girl (maybe 12-13y/o) to serve a volleyball over hand. We had worked on it over and over, and when she finally got it over the net, we both squeeled and jumped for joy! It was quite a moment to celebrate.

Part-Time Nanny Available in White Bluff, TN: Mary S.
Hi I’m Mary!
I am 26 and have been married for 5 years. We have a one year old son named Zeke and lots of land to play on. This would be a service I will provide at my own home. I started babysitting when I was 12 years old pretty consistently and I was hired as a daycare teacher in 2018 and then I was promoted to preschool teacher in 2021 and taught there until I got pregnant in 2024. I was CPR certified for those 6 years but my license has since expired. I also work with teens at our local church as my husband is the youth minister which means I have to pass background checks. We have a big yard and this would be a safe, calm and fun environment for your kiddo!
