A little bit about me

My name is Jill Desormeau I grew up in Camillus Ny graduated from West Genesee HS. I have a Bachelors from Syracuse University in Psych/Sociology and a minor in english and textual studies.

I nannied for a family of 7 a local oral surgeon when I was attending college. It was a great fit since i’m one of 6 children I'm used to kids and a bit of chaos:) After that I nannied for a family of four that owns a local roofing company. They had 3 children I made 30$ (hr) had a retirement plan and healthcare, they treated me so wonderful but I definitely worked very hard. I was a nanny and a house manager and worked for their company also. I would do grocery shopping pack lunches, make beds lay out pjs light cleaning. Also when they were away I would stay and watch the house, it was great. In between I have nannied for a couple other families but they either went to full time daycare/school or a grandparent moved local. I moved out to Manlius and have nannied in my home for a couple families.

Jill was thorough and accountable and was always there for us and our son when we needed her. She followed our care plan closely and sent him home everyday with a hand written journal documenting everything the day brought for him including i&o reporting. She was truly a great asset to us and we were so grateful and lucky to have her caring for our 1 year old son."

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

For all the kids I have nannied I create a journal of our day for you to be able to have a glimpse as to what we were up too! I write foods, nap times if they nap and we do crafts, walk to local park etc!

The most important part about being a nanny...

I think there are many important things but one that stands out for me is that the child feels safe and loved I feel like any family I have nannied for has almost felt like a second family to me. I have always loved children and always loved my nannying jobs.

My experience with special needs children...

I have cared for children with speech problems and taken them to appointments if they weren’t in the home. I have experience with autism as my nephew who i’m very close with has. Also some behavioral issues as well. Part of my degree was early childhood so i’m very patient with that I think I learned this also being the 5th sister in a 6 children household
