Hello. My name is Jill Gelinas. I have 25 years of working as a nanny and a chef. I have two daughters both in high school. I am currently working for a Saint Jude family with an infant and a three year-old. The parents are in the navy. I found them on care.com. Their children are going to the childcare at the base now that the baby is not having chemotherapy anymore and healthy, by the grace of God. I am working with a special-needs woman on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. I am looking to care for an infant or young children and grow with the family.
I have had daycare in my home when my kiddos were younger as well.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

Going to the zoo, playing games, playing wit toys on the floor. I be made up bubble golf..anything creative and mind stimulating is what I love. Reaching milestones is amazing. I have been working for a Navy family dealing sith Chemotherapy for a while and they are going great. An amazing experience. I am a French culinary Alumni so I like to get my kids stirring and having fun 🤩

The most important part about being a nanny...

After having children little boat teenagers things can be hectic when they’re your own children and don’t have as much experience as you think you do.. I got to be on a whole new level helping kids and just knowing what to do in any circumstance?

My experience with special needs children...

I watched and cooked for a family that from one to school age. Both boys are twins and they have severe disabilities. I always had to make their food special and purée so they could get it down. One just started walking at the age of seven. They are nonverbal, but I like to do things with them like swim and they’re all family to me. The Navy family I mentioned we are also very good friends now. Both boys and Mom have had blast on the butt seem to be in remission now.

The most important part about being a nanny...

There’s too many. Seeing milestones from rolling over, crawling, scooting, eating real baby food and just enjoying everything that goes with it. All kids have milestones so regardless of the age it’s always enjoyable to see them grow.
