A little bit about me

Hi my name is Jillian! I am a Student at the University of Wisconsin- Madison. I am majoring in Elementary and Special Education to hopefully become a Kindergarten Teacher. I work at the Waisman Childcare Center which is an on campus daycare. I enjoy spending my time taking care of the kids and growing bonds with all of them! I am Pediatric CPR certified, and have my certification for being an Assistant Child Care Teacher. I come from a big family where I am the oldest so I have alot of personal experience with younger kids. I am also in classes learning sign language, so I do know how to sign a bit. I have babysat and taught little ones since I was in highschool. I am currently in my field placement for school teaching middle schooler’s, so I have experience with a wide variety of ages. More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

I currently work as a Daycare provider at the Waisman Childcare Center at UW Madison. There i work with kids 1-4. On the side i have babysat kids between 0-9. I have also been an assistant teacher for Vacation bible school where i was in charge of 2nd graders. I also worked last summer at Wausau School District Summer Schools with 5th graders.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

I enjoy all activities with children from coloring, to being outdoors, playing pretend, and spending time with them. I could also help children out with homework if needed.

My experience with special needs children...

I have been working with some special needs children at the current daycare I work at. There are 7 classroom programs for children ages one through six offer early education and care year‐round in order to meet the needs of a developmentally diverse group of young children.
