Hi. My name is Jo and I’ve had many years of “kid” experience. I have four grown sons, six grandkids, I have been a nanny, and also had an in- home daycare! I love to read to children, go places like the park and library events, go on walks, art projects and just get down on the floor for trains or tea parties. I have a squeaky clean background, clean driving record, don’t smoke, drink or any recreational drugs.. I always keep my CPR current along with Infant and Child First Aid. I love animals and am very comfortable around pets.

More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

I had my own In home daycare @16 years in Lisbon while my four sons were attending school. I have also worked as a nanny for two very busy physicians in Des Moines for three years. I have a resume if interested and references.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

I enjoy reading, painting and being outside. Puzzles, puppets and baby doll tea parties. Going to the park, taking walks and baking treats. I also do some tutoring and other help with homework. Any activity can be fun if it’s approached correctly, even picking up toys and tidying the bedroom.

The most important part about being a nanny...

The most important part about being a nanny is the opportunity to be part of a family, to know you are assisting in allowing this family to function at its fullest and to help with the development and growth of the children. Not to mention that I get to experience the fun and joy of being a part of the family.

My experience with special needs children...

During my long term in-home day care for 16 years, I had the opportunity on two occasions to care for foster children who had been diagnosed with fetal alcohol syndrome.
