More About Me
Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...
I worked as a nanny when I was 15 for a year. I worked with 3 families with as many as 3 children within one of the families. Additionally, I worked as a daycare attendant at the YMCA for almost a year. I worked with children of all ages and needs; ages 6weeks-12years. I was able to make numerous connections with not only the children but the parents as well. There after, I worked as a nanny for a lovely family of 3 (expecting 4!!) over the summer. They have a darling three and a half year old girl who loves to explore! Overall, I love making connections with all families with a multitude of backgrounds!
Activities I enjoy doing with children...
One of my favorite places to take kids (age dependent) is any children's museum. Where they can explore the world more independently and really be able to be a kid without any of the screens. I also love to take kiddos to the park or any indoor play facilities. It helps not only them but parents when they're able to run out all their energy in creative ways. In addition to better tuning their gross motor skills!
The most important part about being a nanny...
The most important part about being a nanny to me is being able to let kids fully enjoy their childhoods. I find it that some kids are growing up so fast, especially with the advancement in technologies. I love being able to just let kids have a strong and powerful imagination. Be encouraged when they want to be warrior princesses and dragon-slayers.
My experience with special needs children...
Working in a day care gave me a glimpse into better caring for children with special needs. Although, I wouldn't call myself an expert, I love all kids and am always ready to learn everything I can to be able to care for any child.
The most important part about being a nanny...
There is this moment in every family where I am able to walk through their door and hear "YAY Jordan's here!!" and it always means I'm doing something right when they're excited to see me! It fills me with joy every time!
