A little bit about me

Hello, my name is Jay! I’m a teenager looking for occasional babysitting opportunities. Growing up, I frequently cared for my 3 siblings, helping with school drop-offs, diaper changes, meal prep, and tutoring. One of my brothers is highly autistic and mute, and I took care of him most summers, which gave me experience in providing extra care and patience.

I’m in the gifted program at school and part of the “STARS Only” program, where I help advocate for special needs students by assisting with homework, encouraging sports participation, and offering peer-level support.

I’m saving money to attend the Global Leadership Program for teenagers in Philadelphia, so babysitting would be incredibly helpful. I’m out of school temporarily and available nearly every day. I have minor babysitting experience, am patient, dependable, and approach challenges with a positive, problem-solving mindset.

I’d love to hear from you and provide excellent care for your little ones!

More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

I have extensive experience caring for my 3 siblings, including a brother who is highly autistic and mute. I provided daily support such as meal preparation, tutoring, and assisting with daily activities. Additionally, I participated in the “STARS Only” program at school, where I supported special needs students by assisting with homework and encouraging sports participation. These experiences have equipped me with patience, adaptability, and effective communication skills.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

I enjoy engaging children in a variety of fun and educational activities, such as arts and crafts, puzzles, and games that stimulate creativity and problem-solving. I also love spending time outdoors with them, whether it’s going on nature walks, playing sports, or organizing simple games. Cooking together is a great way to teach practical skills, and I like reading books and telling stories to encourage their imagination. I also introduce simple science experiments to spark curiosity, and music and dance help with coordination and self-expression. These activities not only keep children entertained but also contribute to their overall development in a fun and interactive way.

The most important part about being a nanny...

The most important part of being a nanny is experiencing the joy of watching a child grow and develop. Every day brings new moments of learning, discovery, and connection. Being part of a child’s life, even in small ways, allows you to make a lasting impact—helping shape their world without fully realizing the depth of your influence. It’s a rewarding experience that reminds you how much children teach us in return, from their curiosity to their boundless energy.

My experience with special needs children...

Caring for my brother, who is highly autistic and mute, has been one of the most meaningful and challenging experiences of my life. Most summers, I was his primary caregiver, and through this, I learned how to be patient, attentive, and deeply in tune with his needs. Though my brother doesn’t communicate in the traditional way, I’ve come to understand his needs through subtle cues, body language, and the bond we’ve developed over time. I’ve learned to anticipate what he needs and how to support him in ways that make him feel comfortable and safe. This experience has not only strengthened my patience but also deepened my compassion, empathy, and problem-solving skills. It’s shown me how important it is to create an environment where children, no matter their abilities, feel understood and valued.

The most important part about being a nanny...

One of my favorite moments with a baby was when I was caring for a little one during playtime. We were sitting on the floor surrounded by toys, and after a few moments of playing, the baby crawled over to me, placed their tiny hands on my lap, and looked up with the most joyful smile. It was such a simple moment, but the connection we shared in that brief instant was priceless. It felt like I was truly in tune with their world, and I could see the trust they had in me. It reminded me of the joy and wonder in each new discovery and how much babies rely on those around them for love, care, and comfort.
