A little bit about me

Hi! Im Josie. I am 21 years old and currently a junior at Ripon college. I am working towards a degree in elementary education, as well as special education. I am looking for a nannying position, primarily between months May and September. I have 5 siblings and am an aunt to 8 children already! :) I have plenty of experience watching my nieces and nephews. I have also worked as a nanny during past summers for other families. I would love to bond with another family, caretaking throughout summer and, if needed, throughout my school year when I am available. I do insist on nannying in your home. I have transportation, am good with pets, know CPR, and can supply references. I love arts and crafts, am willing to take children on field trips, and can do light housework. :)

More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

I currently work part time for the Ripon School District in the elementary school. I am listed as student support staff and work with children with a variety of needs.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

I have always been a lover of all things art. With provided supplies, we could paint pictures and do projects.
I have a reliable vehicle, so if there is a nearby park I would be happy to bring the children there to play on a sunny day.
I also love to bake! Together the children and I could make muffins or cupcakes as a treat.

The most important part about being a nanny...

Is ensuring the safety of the children. Safety always comes first but next would be to show the children that they are loved and taken care of when their parents are at work. I remember my personal experiences of being babysat and I missed my mom so much. I strive to show your children empathy and understanding and be another loving adult in their life.

My experience with special needs children...

I have and am still gaining experience with children who have special needs. I work part time with children who have IEP's at Ripon Elementary and have supervised speech and language therapy at the school. I am also minoring in special education, so I have taken relevant educational courses and begin a special education practicum in January of 2024.

The most important part about being a nanny...

Seeing the milestones and growth of the little ones. I remember watching a young boy use a fork for the first time, say the word "blue" for the first time, and better himself at walking. It is so very exciting. (I try to video these moments for parents as well :) ).
