A little bit about me

Hi! My name is Joy, and I’m a 16-year-old high school student looking for a babysitting position. I have experience caring for children through my role as a youth leader for the Sunday kids’ program at my uncle’s church, Tall Wood Church in Houston, Texas. I’m also part of PALs (Peer Assistance and Leadership) in the Cy-Fair district, where I mentor younger students and help create a positive school environment.

As the only girl in an immigrant household, I’ve gained a lot of hands-on experience with cooking, cleaning, laundry, and keeping spaces organized. I take pride in being responsible, dependable, and attentive to detail — skills that also help me provide great care for children.

I’m a first-generation South Sudanese who grew up in the Midwest and moved to Houston in 2021. I love spending time with kids, being creative, and creating a safe, fun, and supportive space for them to learn and grow.
