Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...
I have 2 years of official work experience as a camp counselor over the past two summers full-time, I've worked with grade schoolers, and outside of camp I've babysat since I was young for preschoolers, grade schoolers, and toddlers. I'm currently enrolled in the elementary education and teaching course at the Blue Valley Center of Advanced Professional Studies (CAPS), where I have had the opportunity to gain first-hand experience through in-class observations of elementary students.
Activities I enjoy doing with children...
Some indoor activities that I love are doing arts and crafts with the children I have worked with and playing games such as Wax Museum with them. For outdoor activities, I often enjoy going outside and playing games like basketball or making sidewalk chalk.

Forming relationships with the children to make sure they have the care they require to have fun, be safe, thrive, and most importantly grow!
My experience with special needs children...
I have gained experience working with special needs children in the past mainly from my experience as a counselor as I have had many children with autism, AHDH, and other learning or behavioral disabilities within my groups. Along with this, I have personal experience with special needs children as I have babysat my currently 6-year-old cousin since she was a baby and she was born with a rare genetic disability that led to cognitive and behavioral setbacks.
The most important part about being a nanny...
It is hard to pick just one moment but one of my favorite moments while working with my kids is when I helped a boy while working at the late care program at my summer camp create a corgi mask, he is autistic, and corgis are his special interest he would always run up to me after camp tell me fun facts about corgis so when one day he asked me to help him create a mask of the dog so he could pretend to be a puppy I was more than happy to assist. Although this moment may seem minuscule being able to see the joy light up on his sweet face after I helped his vision of this mask come to light is something I have never forgotten and it reminds me why I have such a passion for working with children!
