More About Me
Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...
I use to give swim lessons when I was in highschool and I have coached my younger sisters softball teams multiple times. 12u 10u and 8u age groups. I also use to help in the nursery at my church back in NC in high school.
Activities I enjoy doing with children...
I love sports and being outdoors in general. I typically enjoy taking the kids I care for out to the park for a walk or bike ride. Taking them to the playground near by. I LOVE crafts and art. That is hands down my favorite thing to do with them. My favorite part about it is the artwork I receive afterwards from the kiddos. Each kid is so unique and has a different way of doing crafts I love seeing how their little works of art turn out!
The most important part about being a nanny...
Communication with the parents and ensuring the child I am caring for is getting academic and social stimulation throughout the day, not just sitting in front of the TV. So making sure they have activities like crafts, going outdoors, etc.
My experience with special needs children...
I have never cared for any kids with special needs yet. But I would jump at the opportunity if given. They are such a bright light in this world! I have cousin with asperger's syndrome and a family friend whos sister has special needs and we have always enjoyed being around one another.
The most important part about being a nanny...
So I have been babysitting since 13 years old. So technically I have been doing this for going on 10 years now. But doing it full time for about 6 years really. After helping care for kids of 10+ nanny families, it’s impossible to name a favorite moment. There have been so many! I will say coming from a family of 7 kids, ages ranging from 9 years old to 26 years old now, growing up and babysitting for my mom is where I got my love for caring for kids. That is where I have most of my most favorite memories.
