Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

I have worked for families as a babysitter in the past. I also have worked at a daycare center in the infant room! In addition to that, I have volunteered in the children’s unit of a special needs care home, and in special needs classrooms in the Lake school district.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

baking, painting, drawing, cooking, playing outside, wildlife interaction, sensory stimulation, disney movies, arts and crafts, music making, and whatever else the kids want to do!

The most important part about being a nanny...

An important part of nannying and childcare to me is equality. When it comes to children with special needs or learning disabilities, I become quite passionate in their right to equal education. I, myself, have ADHD and work well with lots of kids who have it or fall on the autism spectrum. I try to make time away from parents as pleasurable and non-traumatic as possible for them, and all kids for that matter.

My experience with special needs children...

I have volunteered in the children’s unit of a special needs care home. A lot of it was supervisory, but I am confident I can handle quite a bit. I also have volunteered in different special needs classrooms throughout the Lake school district.

The most important part about being a nanny...

When I worked in the daycare center, there was this really silly little boy who was about 14 months old. It was lunch time and I had the older kids in high chairs. I went over to adjust one of the littler baby’s bottles. When I came back not 20 seconds later, this little boy had smeared mashed potatoes and ravioli all in his hair. I honestly couldn’t help but laugh.
