More About Me
Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...
My experience with childcare is quite extensive. I started babysitting two boys as early as 2014 as one of my first jobs. Fast forward to 2016 where I started working at a private school as an extended care worker and teacher's assistant. I remained working there until the start of the pandemic. Throughout the years I have provided childcare for multiple families and have even volunteered to work at nurseries during church services.
Activities I enjoy doing with children...
I LOVE when kids use their imaginations and I get to tag along on their adventures! I do a lot of imaginary games with my current kiddos and we love to play outside as much as possible. I try to keep them screen free as much as possible, but I will always enjoy playing some video games or watching a movie with them if that is permitted. I also love to do arts and crafts, reading, playing with dolls/action figures, and pretty much everything else under the sun. I strive to make any sort of activity fun and rewarding.
The most important part about being a nanny...
Personally, I believe the most important part about being a nanny is simply being there and present for the kids. I want to be able to truly listen to them. Some days things don't go according to plan and that's OK. I have learned a lot about being a nanny over the last year and realized how important it is for the kids to feel like they are being heard and loved on. I take my time when the kids are upset and really try to put myself on their level to better communicate. While all of the housework, cleaning, preparing meals, and other responsibilities are important, I really try and make sure to spend solid, quality time with the kids, making sure that they truly feel loved and cared for. I try my best to teach patience, kindness, and gentleness to all my kids.
My experience with special needs children...
I do not have much experience with special needs children, although I am willing to learn and re-adapt by whatever means. I love all children and want to provide the best care possible.
The most important part about being a nanny...
Oh boy, where to start on my favorite nanny moment. There have been so many since being a full time nanny. If I had to choose one moment it would have to be when mom allowed the kids and I to have a special "yes" day. It ended up being a really special and fun day filled with yummy food, water games, movies (complete with a fort), and funky hairstyles. It made for two very happy kids, and a very special memory.
