A little bit about me

Over the last 10 years, I have worked with children from 6 weeks to 6th grade. My primary age groups were infants (1 year), mixed ages (1 year), pre-k (2 years), and school aged children (6 years). I love developing activities to feed a child's curiosity while helping them work towards a milestone or goal. While doing this, I work on social and emotional skills such as a growth mindset and other relevant soft skills.

More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

During the course of my childcare experience, I have been an assistant infant teacher, a floating teacher that helped in any age classroom needed, a lead school-age teacher, and a pre-k teacher.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

I love encouraging children to pursue their interest and using that as a starting point to developing the skills they are working on. As an early educator, I have found that children learn best through play with loving guidance and encouragement. That said, I am up for anything that the child(ren) are interested in from crafts and games, interacting with toys, spending time inside or out, story time and songs, to puzzles and anything else they might be interested in. The only activity that I avoid is screen time, though I have utilized it for learning experiences such as seeing an animal make its noise, self-regulation exercises, yoga/dance-alongs, and educational apps such as DuolingABC.

The most important part about being a nanny...

I have always told the children that I work with that their safety is my main priority. Beyond that, my goal is to help them develop the skills they need to succeed without me and to pursue their own interest.
