Hi there! My name is Kai Glass and I am a caring, creative, and responsible girl with a passion for working with children. I am currently in my third year of university, specializing in Performance and drama education, where I take applied courses that focus on creative learning and engagement.

With over 25 plays and musicals under my belt, I love incorporating music, and imaginative play into childcare. I play guitar and sing, so I am always happy to bring a little music into the day! I speak English, Japanese, and French, making me a great fit for multilingual families.

I worked directly under the primary caretaker, providing overnight care and facilitating activities during the day, such as craft making, water sports, music, and drama lessons, to provide a fun and safe summer camp experience. I was responsible for 12 children ages 8 to 10. To obtain this position, I completed a six-week-long intensive staff-in-training program.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

I would love to bring over my guitar and make some music together! If the child is an infant, it would be very lovely to sing for them. I love being active, going on walks or hikes, riding bikes, going to the park, or playing board games.

My experience with special needs children...

Growing up, I had a childhood friend whose brother had Down syndrome. He was a wonderful part of our group, and we would often play together. Spending time with him taught me a lot about patience and understanding. I think that everyone, regardless of their differences, has something valuable to contribute to a friendship or activity. My experiences with him helped me become more empathetic and aware of the unique ways people with special needs interact with the world. I consider myself to be incredibly patient, kind, and empathetic especially with kiddos. I am the BIPOC student rep for my Theatre Course Union at my university, I am very passionate about ensuring the safety and comfort of POC, disabled, and queer students in my program and the world.
