My experience with special needs children comes from caring for my sisters, who are autistic (one was nonverbal for a while as well). Growing up with them has taught me patience, understanding, and how to communicate in ways that make every child feel seen and supported. I’ve learned how to create routines, handle sensory sensitivities, and provide a calm, safe environment that helps them feel comfortable and happy.

My favorite nanny moment was when a child I was caring for finally learned to tie their shoes after we practiced together for days. Seeing the excitement and pride on their face made me realize how meaningful it is to help kids grow and reach little milestones like that.
