During girls camp for church I would help watch over the younger girls and make sure they felt comfortable in the places they were in. I was also a teacher aid at my local elementary school and would help kids with their homework, take them to recess, lunch, ETC.
My experience with special needs children...
My aunt has a child with Autism 2, and every other weekend during the summer I would drive down to help take of him. I would feed him, play with him, keep his brain engaged and help him calm down when he would have meltdowns/felt overstimulated. I was also a special needs aid at my highschool and helped those kids feel confident in themselves and helped wherever I was needed!
