More About Me
Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...
I started babysitting when I was pretty young, around 12 years old. I was always quick to volunteer whenever I could. Soon after I started, as time went on and I was still enjoying babysitting and helping others, I started setting my own hourly rate and expanding outside of babysitting and pet sitting for just friends and family. I was having them recommend me to others, and using websites to reach more families. I am currently 24 years old, and as my friends started having their first kids over the recent years. I am now the go-to sitter for all of them! I also pet-sit as well and have quite a few clients.
Activities I enjoy doing with children...
Bringing them to new places, reading stories/books to them, playing games outdoors, and crafts are just some of my favorite activities to do with the children I take care of.
The most important part about being a nanny...
Keeping the children safe, happy, healthy, and cared for. But it is just as important to make sure they actually FEEL cared for. It is especially important to create a special bond with both the child/children and the family.
My experience with special needs children...
Unfortunately, I do not have much experience working with special needs children. I did provide care for 1 child in the past who had high functioning/mild autism and was not very verbal. But other then that, I do not have much experience providing care for children/adults with special needs, but I am always happy to offer help to those with special needs and their families!
The most important part about being a nanny...
I brought a 3 year old boy to the aquarium for the first time. He was unhappy the whole way there due to the long car ride, and didn’t completely understand where we were going. When I saw the quick change in his facial expression as soon as we got through the entrance, I was just as overjoyed as he was when he realized what we were doing. I’ve always had a big heart for animals, so getting to experience this moment with him and seeing the love he had for animals as well, was my favorite moment.
