I have had 3 years of previous experience taking care of children. My most recent job was with a 3 year old and a 3 month old. I have been taking care of the children for the past 2 years. I have really enjoyed watching the oldest grow; I started watching her when she was just barely 2 years old. I have also really enjoyed watching the baby grow. I took care of him since he was a newborn and I have really enjoyed watching him develop. Crazy how fast they grow up!
Activities I enjoy doing with children...
I always love to dance to music with kids! Another thing I enjoy is going to parks and playing in the field or on the playground. I try to go outside as much as I can with them while weather is good and the environment is safe.
The most important part about being a nanny...
The most important thing to me about being a nanny is being there for the children. Understanding what the parents expect of me and stepping back when necessary. Allowing children the space to grow and develop is so important in the early stages of life.
My experience with special needs children...
While I have not had previous experience taking care of children with special needs, while I was in high school I took "peer tutoring" every year. I enjoyed helping others and being there for them. I developed long lasting relationships with them and their family even after graduation.
