I love incorporating arts and crafts into activities. So we can build a fort inside or out and crate an entire world to play in. Any activity that stimulates creativity and imagination is good in my book as play-based learning is an excellent way to help kids grow their problem solving skills and understanding of the world.
My experience with special needs children...
I worked in an orphanage for disabled children in Ecuador for six months. They had varying degrees of cerebral palsy and other things that keep most of them wheelchair bound.
