A little bit about me

I'm a stay at home mom to a 6 year old whom I homeschool, so your chuldren would have an automatic built-in friend/playmate. I have 10+ years experience working with children ages ranging from infant to 12 years old. I was a special education teacher for 7 years and am a certified behavior analyst. I can easily obtain Firat Aid and CPR training as it is a part of my backround but has recently lapsed since I left the work field. I consider myself to be playful and creative. I believe children learn best through play and exploring in nature.

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

I have babysitting experience from my teenage years. I was a mother's helper for 4 young children for 3 years. After obtaining my Master's degree I began working in the special education field as a teacher's assistant and in-home behavior technician for about 4 years. I then worked as a special education teacher for an additional 5 years. I am a certified behavior analyst but have not worked in the field for about 3 years. I left my job to be a stay at home/homeschool mom to my now 6 year old child.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

I enjoy playing different types of games, taking walks and exploring in nature, trying different science experiments, and following the childs lead when it comes to play time. I am a big proponent of natural learning through play and exploration. I enjoy involving children in their daily routines in fun and imaginative ways.

My experience with special needs children...

I have experience working with children diagnosed with autism spectrum disorders. I have worked with a wide range of children with varying levels of needs including, alternative communication methods, support with communicating needs, behavioral supports, and learning supports.
