More About Me
Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...
I started my career in 2017 when I joined a daycare in Downtown Baltimore. There, I worked as a Teacher's Aide and then a Teacher with children ages 3 months to 6 years, dedicating 3.5 years to these roles. During the pandemic, I decided to transition into nannying, which has been my career since mid-2020. During these 6 years, I had the privilege of working with multiple families in different childcare arrangements: 5 families through nanny shares, families with newborns/infants as young as 2 weeks to 2 months old, and families with children of different ages ranging from Infants to 6 years old. I also worked as a Travel/Night Nanny & a Mother's Helper. I happily still babysit the children I used to nanny for or met through families I've nannied for when I can! In the 8 1/2 years I've worked in childcare, I truly cherish the unique experiences, knowledge, and connections I've made with each child & their family.
Activities I enjoy doing with children...
I love walking in the Park/ playground, doing water play activities when it's nice outside. I love taking kids to the Aquarium, Science Center, Port Discovery, and Indoor Play center. I also love reading, making art projects, music and dance time, baking cookies & cupcakes, and watching Disney movies, mainly the ones you can sing at the top of your lungs to all the Disney songs!
The most important part about being a nanny...
I think the important part of being a Nanny is making a difference in a child’s life. I believe in providing children with a balanced approach that combines active guidance with ample opportunities for positive self-expression and learning. I aim to serve as a supportive extension for the families I work with & be flexible to the children's/families' specific needs!
My experience with special needs children...
I have experience with children with special needs while substitute teaching for BCPS for two years. I’m also working on becoming a paraeducator. I have also taken classes for both my associates and bachelors degree about caring/teaching children with special needs.
The most important part about being a nanny...
I remember the first time the last family I was a nanny for told me that they saw me as more than just their nanny, but also their friend and a huge part of their son's life. I never had that feeling when I was working in childcare centers. I felt a genuine connection to the family and I continue to want that with any family I work with.
