The most important part about being a nanny...
To me the most important part of being a nanny is creating a safe, nurturing, and engaging environment where children can thrive emotionally, socially, and intellectually. building strong, trusting relationships with both the children and their parents is very important while also supporting the family’s values and routines. Being a nanny has lots of important roles like being dependable, patient, and attentive to each child’s individual needs, fostering development through play, learning activities, and consistent care. Communication, flexibility, and a genuine love for working with children are key to supporting their growth and well-being every day. Each child, nanny and parent should feel 100% safe and comfortable to ensue the best outcomes!
My experience with special needs children...
I have hands-on experience caring for my 11-year-old sister, who has profound physical and developmental disabilities. She is fully dependent on her caregivers for all aspects of daily life, including mobility, communication, feeding, and basic needs. Being by her side every day has taught me deep patience, compassion, and attentiveness. It has been a true blessing to learn her unique ways of expressing herself and to form a bond that goes beyond words. I’ve also attended countless therapy sessions with her and volunteered at some to support other children with similar needs. As well as church special need classes where I watched the children for a couple hours while the parents were watching the service! This experience has shaped my understanding of care, empathy, and the importance of consistency and trust in supporting individuals with special needs
