A little bit about me

Hello, my name is Kamogelo Promise. I’m a 25-year-old international student at Dallas College.

I’m a compassionate and caring individual from South Africa. As the oldest sibling, caregiving has always been part of my life, which led me to pursue childcare at 19, a career I’ve been passionate about ever since.

My journey began as a babysitter and tutor in college, supporting infants, toddlers, and youth. Later, I worked as an au pair, caring for a toddler and an infant about 45 hours per week. Over the years, I’ve gained experience with children of all ages and have references from the wonderful families I’ve worked with.

I’ve been in childcare for five years and hold an Advanced Child Care Training Certification. I’m familiar with Montessori methods, focusing on children’s physical, emotional, and cognitive growth. I’m also CPR certified and have a clean driving record.

The most important part about being a nanny...

My favorite nanny moment was every time when I had to put my host kid down for a nap and he would always come up with ways to make me stay longer. He would ask me to tell him a story about when I was young and when I’m done he would want another story and another one. When he is all tired and ready for a nap he would say “ see you later Kamo- gator instead of Alligator. Well Kamo is a short version for my name.
