Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...
At one point I cared for five children all at the same time. They were all siblings. Four girls and one boy. Ages 3 to 10 years old. I had a complete blast caring for that family for four years. I was the mommy from sun up to sun down.
Activities I enjoy doing with children...
I love outdoors. Parks, beach, basketball, etc. Also I love taking my children to museums, the library and the arcade. Movie nights are a must atleast once a month.
The most important part about being a nanny...
The most important thing about being a nanny is having an impact. People never forget how you made them feel. Homework is necessary, chores are necessary, work is neccessary, but love is optional. If I have the opportunity to make a family feel more special than they felt the day before, sign me up!
My experience with special needs children...
I have two children with special needs that I’m a full time mommy to. My nine year old daughter suffers from attention deficit disorder. She is a stellar student and excels academically. Because of her condition she is given more free time which allows her to release all her bottled up energy. I also give her more time to complete homework and tasks. My 22 month old has sensory issues. It’s been a pleasure getting to know, understand and accommodate her behaviors. She’s quick tempered so it’s made me a pretty patient mom. I often have to redirect her and repeat myself.
The most important part about being a nanny...
Once my kids played dress up and pretended to be different adults from our community church and family. Their parents came home while we were in the middle of dress up and everyone fell out laughing. This went on for hours.
