A little bit about me

I've been in the Healthcare field for 26 years. I have been in babysitting throughout the years and for Nannylane for the last 3 years approximately. I was a housekeeper for two families back in college. I have worked In Dialysis as a Technician, Renal Case Manager, Home Health Care as Home Health Care Aid, Direct Support Professional, Patient Care Attendant, Nursing Assistant and most recently a Residential Counselor for a THP program for GLOM(Gods Love Outreach Program.)
I have 4 children of my own-2 younger and two are now adults. I believe every child is truly unique and needs patience, time and understanding to reach a new bond and individual relationship to form.
I love theater arts. I encourage creativity, reading. There is so much power in the imagination! I love to sing, I love music, dance and am active with these things in my down time. I would love the opportunity to possibly work with you! Resume available!

More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

I am a parent of 4 children and two of which are toddlers. I babysat as a young girl for neighbors and worked in the daycare for my church. Also, I have worked for families through Nannylane with different age ranges and challenges. I have 26 years dialysis healthcare experience and have worked with many In Home Health Care Provider companies and have worked with special needs children, adults and the elderly in helping assist in a variety of illnesses, disabilities and ages. I am very experienced with all types of care and I have worked in two different hospitals, many dialysis facilities, in home care, as well as trained as a Nursing Assistant at Central Valley Specialty Hospital and almost completed the requirements for the Nursing Program. I also study independently as a Natural Health Care Consultant. I have 90+ units at Merced College towards the Nursing Program, a member of the Health Club and also a member of Honor Society. I started in healthcare when I was only 18 years old.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

Indoor activities like drawing, coloring, reading, age appropriate interactive learning opportunities, playing imaginative or make believe and toys. Depending on age, I have children help me bake or help to cook by assiting in small ways, age appropriate. Outside we play ball, swing, ride scooters, use the trampoline and slide and go to the park, take walks, swim, tag, hide and seek, picnics, trips to age appropriate play, discovery museums, aquariums, casa de fruita, zoo, kid rides, etc. I think extracurricular activities are excellent for children, art, dance, sports, gymnastics, whatever is available in the area or what they are interested in doing.

The most important part about being a nanny...

Making sure the kiddos are well taken care of, fed, safe and played with. Connecting and making quality time the most important thing and creating a good connection with the child and family.
Being a Nanny is coming into a home and becoming part of this family for a while. Being a person they can trust. Respecting their way of life and living it that way while in their home. Caring for their child in a way that makes them 100% comfortable and bonding with the whole family in an effort and hopes the connection is a perfect one for everyone.

My experience with special needs children...

I have cared for children and adults with special needs, autism, add, adhd, intellectual and physical disorders, developmental disabilities. I have cared for clients with dementia, Parkinsons, down syndrome, cerebral palsy and unidentified intellectual disorders.

The most important part about being a nanny...

The are many moments that are precious, but one of my favorite moments has been a time that I was taking care of a one and half year old and she was playing with my gummy bear game on my phone and you can make him dance and sing and she was experiencing it for the 1st time and dancing and laughing! So cute! Her eyes and mouth just wide open as she began to look for mom who works privately from home to show her the magic.
It's just that innocence and excitement from children as they start to experience life and things they've never seen before and you realize what a blessing these ages are and equally important to capture these memories because it's so, so precious.
