More About Me
Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...
As an Artistic Executive Director, professional violinist, and mind/body professor, I am interested in collaborating with others to create invigorating music programs. The vision statement for my chamber music programs is as follows: promoting the joy of music while maintaining strict standards of excellence. As an Arts Administrator ( [phone number hidden]), I have key skill sets: hosting and coordinating recitals, managing concerns and requests from parents, students, and faculty, maintaining phone management, creating exciting curriculum, creating the class calendar for forty students, judging auditions, teaching individual and group lessons, running faculty orientation, and fulfilling the budget.
Activities I enjoy doing with children...
I love to work with children as they grow and develop their curiosity, talent, and skill set. In particular, I enjoy teaching them any of their homework activities such as math, writing, reading, spelling, science and social studies. I also am adept at teaching them music after school even at age three. I do believe in outside invigorating activities that complement mental engagement and cognitive development. I enjoy playing soccer, put put golf, climbing jungle gyms, and playing in sand boxes. I adore reading bedtime stories to children as well.
My experience with special needs children...
In 2021, I taught third and fourth grade special needs math, spelling, and writing as substitute teacher for Blue Ridge Elementary School. All my students passed for the first time their math exam for the state. This was a wonderful new experience for me to teach special education students.
The most important part about being a nanny...
I started babysitting in Bethesda, MD when I was a teenager as I was saving money to pay for a new violin. Picking my favorite moment, of course, is a bit tricky! There are many! I have many fond memories of building tents in the back yard, roasting marshmellows, making dinners together, watching a great movie, biking to the park, and reading/writing our own bed time stories.

Hey! I am Katie, a single mother to 5 wonderful children. I have 2 boys and 3 girls. I remember how excited I was when I could take the Red Cross babysitting course when I turned 12, years ago. I am patient and kind. I am very organized and do well in chaos. I enjoy cooking and cleaning. I love to be outside and enjoy crafts and board games on a rainy day! I enjoy finding the beauty in small things. I have spent the last 13 years as a busy stay at home mom. Between dance, gymnastics, baseball and basketball I’d love to find the perfect family to share my time with. I’m easy to get along with and bring a lot to the table! For several years I’ve done home health caregiving on the side and while I adore it — losing my patients, (elderly) is hard. I am an open book and look forward to finding the perfect family to share my expertise with.
