My experience with special needs children...
My best friend has a sassy sweetheart of a daughter with AMC. I have helped with any and all things possible, through her development in physical therapy over the years. I have two more close friends, each with Autistic sons. I'm one of the few people both of the boys allow to hold and calm them. I've also helped assist a family of 4 with two mentally disabled children. The youngest son (7) is non-verbal and was prone to physical retaliation. I pride myself on providing a safe and comforting space for special needs and all children in general!
The most important part about being a nanny...
We were running around the back yard, enjoying the good weather while we still had it. Well, it's a known that I'm a sucker for nature and all things sweet. The oldest daughter (5) had come up to me and told me to close my eyes and NO PEAKING! When I opened my eyes, she surprised me with a handful of handpicked flowers from the yard. Telling me they were for me because she loved me, and I loved flowers. It's the little things that are so big!
