I am a Dialysis PCT, but a mama of 4 boys first. My oldest is almost 17, so I'm not new to kiddos. 😊 I have taken care of many other children and even helped raise a few family and friends prior.
Activities I enjoy doing with children...
Gardening - very educational as well as fun, exciting and something kids can feel proud of.
Crafts - Suncatchers, shrinky dinks, knitting, painting, etc!
Cooking/Baking - a great tool to teach kids math, healthy choices, moderation, safety and self-sufficiency.
Dance breaks - I set alarms on my phone for random times and everyone comes to the kitchen to dance it out for a minute. Great stress reliever and it's pretty hard not to smile during.

The most important part of caring for children in any capacity is keeping them safe and peacefully cared for. When their parent isn't there, they need to feel free to relax and be themselves which allows them to learn and grow in a healthy environment.

My son is on the spectrum and, in school, I helped in the special needs class. Now, I also have patients with many different challenges.
