My experience with special needs children...
I have cared for a range of children with disabilities although not severe cases. I am more familiar with children with autism or behavioral issues. I grew up with a family member on the spectrum and have worked in a group home with adults with disabilities so I am comfortable with the subject.
The most important part about being a nanny...
My favorite nanny moments is when I get to play pretend with the children and allow them to use their imagination to play a game they completely made up in the moment! I also love watching the kids learn, and especially enjoy moments when they are proud and celebrate themselves. I always try to make a big deal even out of small accomplishments!
