A little bit about me

I have a large family that consists of me and my 9 siblings that age from 10 to 24. I have had 8 years of babysitting experience and have cherished and learned from each and every family I have babysat/ nannied for. I'm a new mom to a babygirl and I’m looking on being able to bring her with me. Some hobbies of mine include reading, cooking, and spending time with my daughter. I am CPR certified and have a valid driver's license. One thing that I always want families to know is that I'm not there, in your home, to try and replace you or to try and change the way you do things. I want to be able to have fluid communication so that I can be a support system for your kiddos and your busy life. Watching your kids succeed in their accomplishments is my ultimate goal with nannying. And of course to help you out. I have 3 years of experience with children/ adults with autism and special needs, which is another thing I’m passionate about, helping children with their developmental milestones.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

I love the outdoors so being outside is a big thing for me. Engaging children with sensory stimulation, knowledge of numbers, letters, colors, shapes, and words. Learning manners, basic sign language, and other beneficial qualities such as potty training, learning how to clean up after themselves, and learning kitchen basics. I also like to encourage children to step out of their comfort zone and try new things wether that be socially, with food, or a new activity.

The most important part about being a nanny...

One big thing that's important to me with nannying is making sure that your kiddos are healthy and taken care of properly. I want to give them an experience that they'll remember forever. Some of the most memorable moments from my childhood were moments with my babysitter.

My experience with special needs children...

I work at a summer camp that is for children and adults who have special needs. Ages range from 8 years- 60+. At camp we go fishing/ swimming, do daily crafts, sing songs, go on hikes, we have a cooking segment each day, play bingo, read books. All through the week we (counselors) assist campers with bathing (if needed), all the activities, eating, and at the end of the week we hold a dance under the stars and end with fireworks. I also worked as a para educator at an elementary school. I worked one on one with a 3 year old and then throughout the day with other ages. Through the day I helped the children with classwork, and social work as well. Learning cues, routines and social interaction.
