The most important part about being a nanny...
When I was working as a music teacher and I had a student who was nonverbal who liked to isolate himself, gain the courage to get up and sing karaoke in a room crowded with people! It was a very emotional moment, and I was so proud of the student after working with him for seven months and encouraging him to step out of his comfort zone. The best part was that he sang every lyric of the song when we all believed that he only had a vocabulary of less than 10 words. It was the first time he spoke multiple words in 17 years of his life.
