The most important part about being a nanny...
Being patient and understanding. so strongly believe kids have their own personality as soon as they are born and so i try to understand what works and doesn’t with the specific kid. I also love to talk things through instead of talking sternly or even raising my voice cause i remember growing up I hated that and just wanted to communicate my feelings rather be shut down.
My experience with special needs children...
my last nanny job was from late september 2020 till early 2022. one of the children had sensory processing disorder and anxiety. He would often get overstimulated or overwhelmed in public so i learned what helped him best based off of trial and error as well as during panic attacks i would help him calm his breathing teaching him to count and let him know he’s in control and i would only give him medication if nothing was working and only after facetiming his mom
