A little bit about me

I’m a Stay at Home Dog Mom, previously in Human Resources and Operations/Logistics. I have a progressive stance on child rearing with experience in early childhood developmental psychology. My concerns are your child’s safety as well as their developmental progress in the early months. I have limited experience as a night nanny and lactation help. I am very capable in the kitchen (part-time caterer) and can perform light cleaning duties pertaining to the children. I enjoy a good routine for any child with a focus being on playtime and motor skills development once they’re old enough. I am looking to be a good support for a family or group of families to help lighten the load and provide a helping hand. I am not currently certified in CPR. I do have experience with CPR and other life saving measures such as the Heimlich maneuver and Narcan administration. My schedule is flexible depending on the situation. I am pet friendly with no food allergies.

More About Me

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

When it comes to activities for infants, tummy time is very important for development. There are many ways to accomplish this and variety keeps the baby interested. I enjoy taking them for walks while explaining what things are and allowing them to touch plant life. We play ‘Baby in the mirror’, explore the house, and talk about what things are. I encourage parents to use an Upseat as it helps develop their core so they can sit up on their own, which is something we will work towards. Montessori toys and cloth baby books for motor skills with lots of positive reinforcement means lots of smiles and fun. I encourage daily ‘reading’ where they explore books themselves as I read them aloud. I have also found that 5/6 month olds and up enjoy hand puppets. I’m not a fan of screen time since I am there to be with them. I do use my phone to play baby appropriate music as well as to listen to stories when I take my own food break.

My experience with special needs children...

Unfortunately, I do not have experience with special needs children beyond the autism spectrum. I am very willing to try, but it will be a learning experience.

The most important part about being a nanny...

My favorite moments are when all of the motor skills work and phonetic exercises start clicking. One day you walk in and they’re babbling sounds you’ve been working on or are able to use both hands and grasp things on their own. The daily and weekly changes are so rewarding and amazing to witness.
