A little bit about me

My name is Katie Pitlick, I'm 20 year olds. I am the oldest of four children and grew up on a farm outside of Iowa City. Throughout high school I was involved in softball, basketball, volleyball, and track, along with holding leadership roles on Student Council, Student Assistance Team and the Leadership Council. Growing up I was surrounded by a large loving family, which I value greatly. With being the oldest I hold many housework skills like, cooking, laundry, cleaning, and taking the children to where they need to be and making sure they have their school work completed, and I throughly enjoy all. I started babysitting at a young age for my family members and friends and throughout high school I worked at a daycare and volunteered at local elementary schools in the district. With going to college I had to mature, grow, and make the right decisions for my best interest on my own since I was no longer under my parents roof.

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

For three years I was a part-time teacher at a daycare, I volunteered throughout high school at local elementary schools, and I am the old four of children so I started babysitting at a young age for my family and friends.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

My whole life I have been involved with sports, including softball, basketball, track, and volleyball, which has always held a place in my heart. But I also just love doing free playing with children and letting them run the show, and seeing where their imagination takes them. With living on a farm I've had a lot of experience in the outdoors, which I think is very important to let children roam and discover new things.

The most important part about being a nanny...

For as long as I can remember I have also loved being around children and taking care of them, whether it was just with their homework, a friendship problem, being their best friend, and even with infants just simply taking care of their every need. The most important part about being a nanny to me is being a person they can look up to, someone that is their for them with schoolwork and other problems, but also being a best friend and feeling like I'm apart of the family.

My experience with special needs children...

In high school when I volunteered at local elementary schools twice a week I would use my time in the special needs classrooms. Children with special needs hold a huge place in my heart and make my day better no matter the circumstances. Also when I worked the daycare we had two boys with special needs and I was their aid for two summers and I loved every minute of it!
