A little bit about me

Hi! My name is Katie! I’m a BHBL alumni and I am going to be a senior in college at saint rose. My major is social work. I’ve always been passionate about helping people and helping them achieve their goals. I love children and plan to work with that group, in my career. My whole life I’ve loved playing with my younger sibling, cousins and went on to babysitting throughout highschool and college. I am CPR, first aid, AED, narcan and life guard certified. I currently don’t have my license but am working towards getting it soon. I do however have a reliable source of transportation. I am a very passionate cook and don’t mind cleaning or helping around the household. I love crafts and in the past always come prepared with art supplies, coloring pages and different games and toys they might like to play with. I also love animals, so I don’t have a problem with pets around or helping to take care of them!

More About Me

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

Indoor activities include: crafts (coloring, drawing, play doh, painting etc) scavenger hunts, helping with homework, reading books, playing board games

Outdoor activities include: going to a local park, play in the snow, make obstacle courses, play tag or any other kind of sports. I can also help them with certain athletic skills. I’m a track and field athlete. I have played soccer, basketball and many other sports growing up as well

I have a special needs brother so I have lots of experience helping him throughout my life. I also have an autistic best friend. I am completely comfortable watching a special needs child and can accommodate to their needs. I’m very patient and compassionate and would love to help.

The most important part about being a nanny...

My favorite memory was when the children I was watching surprised me with a talent show. They were brother and sister and always were at each other’s throats but managed to work together and put on a show for me. It was so cute and heartwarming. After that their relationship was a lot closer. Things like that make it worth it.
