A little bit about me

Hi!
I'm a 21-year-old Junior, at the University of Dayton. I am majoring in Adolescent to Young Adult Education with a concentration in Integrated Language Arts.
At the University I am apart of Marianist Leadership Scholars, a scholarship group. I serve as a team member for Leadership Scholars and help plan retreats and meeting. I am also employed in the community as a tutor for El Puente Educational Center.
In the past I have been highly involved in theater, choir, and community service. I am outgoing, optimistic, and encourage creativity. I have babysat for multiple families.
In addition, I am CPR and First Aid Certified through the Akron Children's Hospital Safe-sitter program, as well as VIRTUS trained through the Archdiocese of Cincinnati.
I feel that these experiences have given me a vast array of experiences and I look forward to future opportunities!

More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

In 2017 I was given the opportunity to live in Costa Rica for a month with Amigos de las Americas. In Costa Rica, along with a partner, I ran a two week summer camp for the local kids. We planned fun, educational activities that pertained to environmental sustainability and living sustainable lives.
In the summer of 2019 I was given another great opportunity to serve as a group leader for a two week camp provided by Weathervane Playhouse. I assisted the kids (ages 7-11) in activities such as art, poetry, music, and acting.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

I absolutely love anything that is creative! In the past the kids I've babysat and I have done art projects together or put together little skits. I also enjoy reading and reading to the kids I'm babysitting. As for outdoor activities, I'm always willing to play sports or go on a fun hike.

The most important part about being a nanny...

Is providing and maintaining a safe space where the kids feel loved and heard. I am an education major and from a family of educators, and one of the most important things I've learned is that kids just want someone to listen to them and talk to. It is my goal to always be a dependable source of help and comfort while also curating a relationship in which there is respect.
