More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

I have worked with children for 15 years! Starting out at 15 as a high school babysitter, moving on to The YMCA working as a counselor and moving up to Associate Program Director of Youth Development. There I ran out before and after school programming as well as summer camps for 100+ campers. At the same time, I was a part time nanny for a family of two beautiful girls and stayed with them for 5+ years. The girls sadly grew up. After my time at the Y came to a close in 2020 and was there since 2015, I started working for WSFCS. I’ve been in the middle school setting, teaching language arts, math as well as supporting our EC population in science and social studies.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

I love to get children out of the house or off screens as much as possible. I love to be active and learning through play instead of being in one spot for too long. However, each family and child are different and I love figuring out what everyone needs and being able to adapt to those routines.

The most important part about being a nanny...

Becoming a part of the family or child’s life. Seeing them grow into amazing humans with unique personalities. Helping them see their potential, no matter how young.

My experience with special needs children...

I have had more than 20 years of experience with children with special needs. My mom worked in a special needs classroom (still does) and I worked with the special needs children at my teaching job. I also have babysat for families with autistic children and nonverbal. Each child is deserving of loving care despite their abilities.
