My experience with special needs children...
My senior year of high school, I worked with kids around my age, 18-25 in my gym class. I would help lead activities, as well as be a friend. It was a large school and the kids in the special education program had annual gym class. So I hung out with around 5-9 in that program for that gym block. I’m sure if do completely fine with younger kids as well.
The most important part about being a nanny...
Once at work, I was playing Legos with some of my kids, and they started talking about marvel, transformers, Disney. They were shocked when I started joining the conversation. That’s when I realized I have the same interests as these kids. Sometimes I’d be playing with the toys and it would take me a solid 30 seconds to realize I’m sitting playing by myself and the kids moved on. 🤣
