A little bit about me

I'm 47 years old and love kids I've been babysitting my whole life and I've been doing this since I was 12 just didn't get paid that much doing it for family lol. I can cook, clean, do laundry, vacuum, run errands and ect. I'm a heavy person so most kids like to lay on me like a teddy bear( well since I look like one. I love reading to kids, and helping them discover new made up games and to learn how to live up to the standards that you have laid out. However I'm no longer certified in CPR and first aid but am willing to get it done. I have experience in the medical assistant area from going to school to be one. I've been told that I'm fun, loving, creative, and most of all I try my best to stick to the same schedule that your children are use to. I have a daughter myself and she just gave me my first grandbaby and he's 5 months old. I love see the looks on kids faces when they discovered something new and exciting.

More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

I've went to medical assistant school, I've cared for 5 kids at one time it's always been at a house and we've also been at parks playing for hours. No daycare centers or anything like that. I've also worked and been paid from welfare programs as well. I've volunteered at the kids school to help out and get some good ideas for things to do at home that the kids will enjoy doing.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

Well indoor activities would include reading, playing learning games, help them learn to clean after themselves and I love to color draw paint and do arts and crafts, as for outside activities there's the park, back yards where we can do things like play hide and seek, toss balls, or whatever they want to do I'm very easy going and I feel like I just connect with the children

The most important part about being a nanny...

That the kids can feel comfortable with me like part of the family. Making sure that the welfare and well being of the children are taking care of as if the parent has never left. I want them to be smart, active, creative, etc. it's my job to follow the schedule that the parents have set so that the children can feel comfortable like nothing has changed.

My experience with special needs children...

I'm sorry to say but I don't have that much experience with special needs children but am willing to learn and see what it is that they like to do. Just show me the way and I will follow

The most important part about being a nanny...

One time my daughter was reading me a book because it was my nap time and by the third page she fell asleep in the middle of the story she was making up, and as soon as I went to move she jumps up and says that she caught me not doing nap time and then gave me a time out but not until I would wake up from my nap lol. She just knew that she was acting as the parent and it was hilarious at what she thought had to be done as a parent. Then another time was during potty training. She never really cared for diapers the older she got so she was into blue's clues and Teletubbies her favorite was poe the red one well for Easter I got her a 4 foot Teletubbie and underwear she had her first accident on a pair of Teletubby underwear with Poe on it and started crying over and over because she thought she ruined the underwear and wasn't going to be able to keep them anymore so within a week she completely stop peeing whenever she have the Teletubby underwear on, she was potty trained within a month
