A little bit about me

Hello! My name is Katrina Goddard. I am a recent college graduate and the oldest of five children in our family, so I have been taking care of kids since almost before I could talk. ;) From babysitting to daycare to nannying to tutoring, I've done it all. I see each child as a unique personality I can't wait to get to know, and I would love to get to know your kids as well!

I am 23 years old and about to celebrate my one-year anniversary with my husband, Gage, who recently graduated from Beeson Divinity School at Samford. I love watercolor painting, photography, decorating, organizing, reading, and exploring.

In addition to multiple nannying positions over the years, I have experience tutoring children of multiple ages (from first grade to eight grade) in subjects including middle school math.

I have also worked as a daycare teacher for a classroom of four-year-olds.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

Indoor: Painting/coloring, doing crafts, cooking, reading, building forts

Outdoor: Yard games, chalk, picnics, nature adventures, gardening, sprinklers in hot weather ;)

The most important part about being a nanny...

I think the most important thing a nanny can do is try to understand and communicate importance to the children that are under their care. It is easy to forget what it is like to be a kid, but children love it when they are valued and considered important by adults. It is a privilege for me to be able to communicate to children that they are loved and cared for, that they are important even if they are "littler" ;).

The most important part about being a nanny...

Some of my favorite nanny memories are taking my kids out for ice cream to celebrate special events like birthdays or the last day of school.

I also can't help loving those moments when, after working on a craft together or coloring, my kids say, "this one is for you!" It gets me every time ;)
