For the past five months, I’ve been providing childcare for a child with autism, which has deepened my understanding and strengthened my skills in creating a supportive, engaging environment. The most important part of being a nanny is making sure that the kids are doing things that are engaging in some way, weather that means playing games or coloring. I want the kids to have an outlet for their energy that also enriches them.

I have a nonverbal sister with severe autism, I babysit her on a weekly basis. I have worked with children with autism and ADHD at my previous Jobs

The most important part about being a nanny...

My favorite moment was when I worked at a summer camp. Some kids in my cabin wanted to preform a song from the musical Hamilton for the talent show, and asked me and another councilor to join them. After days of practice, the moment had come where we walk onstage. The girls emotions ranged from nervousness to confidence. We rapped and sang, and we the got a standing ovation. It was such a fun and memorable experience!!
