A little bit about me

Hello, my name is Kayla. I am 20 years old. I am a junior at UNCW. I transferred to UNCW this year from MTCC in Marion, NC. In my previous job, I was a nanny for a non-verbal little girl with Down syndrome and autism, so I am very used to working with kids with disabilities. I am currently working toward my bachelor's in elementary education before I go back to school to earn my master's in pediatric occupational therapy. I am not first aid or CPR certified; however, I am more than happy to take the courses if needed.

More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

I was a nanny for two years for a nonverbal little girl with Down syndrome and autism. I also watched her two older siblings on occasion. I also grew up helping my aunt babysit.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

- playing with toys
- playing outside
- playing board/card games
- making fun obstacle courses
- drawing and coloring
- playing any fun and educational games I can find on Pinterest

The most important part about being a nanny...

The most important thing is making sure the child is safe and that parents can fully trust me to do my absolute best to not only keep their child safe but also care for them.

My experience with special needs children...

I was a nanny for a nonverbal little girl with Down syndrome and autism. My little cousin has autism, and I have helped babysit him many times.

The most important part about being a nanny...

Watching the little girl I used to nanny understand or accomplish something new. Watching her learn to use a spoon on her own and learn new sounds or signs to communicate.

Babysitter Available in Wilmington, NC: Katherine G.

Hi! I’m Katie! I have experience working with children of all ages through in-home nannying and my time working at the Boys & Girls Club. I’ve always loved being around kids and creating a fun, safe, and positive environment for them. I’m dependable, caring, patient, and love keeping kids active, entertained, and smiling! I’m always down for a fun game, craft, or little adventure to make the day more exciting!
Cait B. - Seeking Work in Wilmington

Babysitter Available in Wilmington, NC: Cait B.

My name is Cait. My husband and I recently moved to Wilmington, and I've been looking for opportunities to nanny full-time or babysit part-time. I have a decade of experience caring for children of all ages, and have been working in a classroom environment for the last four years, primarily with children between the ages of 3-6. I have some education in teaching/guiding elementary age children, but the most care experience with younger children. I would love a position that allows me to work for around 6-8 hours most weekdays, but I'm willing to be flexible, depending on the need of the parents. I'm willing to cook, clean, and assist with homework (so long as they're not "smarter than a fifth grader," my long division could use some work). I'm happy to help with pick up / drop off from school, and can provide educational and fun activities and outings for those not quite ready for school as well.

Fun Facts: I love to read, play video games, play board games, chit chat, and listen to music.
Hailey M. - Seeking Work in Wilmington

Full-Time Nanny Available in Wilmington, NC: Hailey M.

Hi! I’m Hailey, I’m relocating from the stunning mountains of Colorado to the beautiful coast of Wilmington, NC this September. Nature has always been my grounding force, and I can’t wait to trade in snow-capped peaks for sandy toes and ocean breezes.

Professionally, I’ve spent the last several years nurturing and guiding little ones as a live-in nanny and both a preschool and infant teacher. Working with children has taught me patience, creativity, and the joy of seeing the world through curious eyes.

Outside of the classroom, I’ve proudly served as a volunteer firefighter and have been pursuing training in EMT school — a path that’s deepened my commitment to helping others in meaningful, hands-on ways. Whether it’s offering a comforting hand to a child or stepping into action during an emergency, I thrive when I’m supporting my community.

Excited for this next chapter by the sea and whatever opportunities come with it!

Allison M. - Seeking Work in Wilmington

Full-Time Nanny Available in Wilmington, NC: Allison M.

Hi, I’m Alli! I was born and raised in Emerald Isle, NC, and the beach will always feel like home. I come from a big, close-knit family and have a sweet black lab named Storm who’s my constant sidekick. I’ve always had a heart for helping others, especially kids, animals, and the elderly. I’m currently working as a CNA and getting ready to start nursing school. While in school, I’m planning to nanny because caring for children brings me so much joy. Nurturing and supporting others has always come naturally to me, and I’m excited to continue doing that both in and out of the classroom.
