Activities I enjoy doing with children...
I enjoy anything that helps to challenge them but still being fun. For example playing kahoot which is still challenging them academically but in a fun way. I enjoy building legos, creating artwork and baking/cooking. I also love the outdoors and taking nature walks as well.
The most important part about being a nanny...
is being able to be that dependable support the child knows you can be and have as well as the parent. It’s always good to know that a parent/child can depend on their babysitter/ nanny especially if there is ever a serious situation and you are needed at hand.
Additionally having that bond with the children/ child you are taking care of allows you to having a more easy going relationship with the child you’re working with. This can help activities and teaching skills more effective. It also helps the parents to know what steps they can take to better support or understand their child as well as get closer to them to build a better family relationship. It lastly helps the parents get time to themselves when occasionally needed and helps the child get more time to be social

My experience with special needs children...
I enjoyed every moment of working as a teacher assistant and tutor with special needs children. It was beautiful to see them struggle with everyday task and see they have the ability to overcome those obstacles. To be able to encourage little minds and hearts they are capable of so much more in the world than what they think or believe. Lastly, being another role model they can go look up to and gain help with their emotions, thoughts and new experiences in life.
The most important part about being a nanny...
My favorite nanny moment while babysitting for example my niece and nephew is when we are able to bake and watch movies. Or occasionally playing in the rain and getting ice cream after being washed up to watch movies. Going on shopping dates with their friends and watching them mingle around the mall or stores with their school friends. Additionally, the things i enjoy the most is when they communicate with me about their emotions on how they are feeling or thinking and them being able to verbally express it without having tantrums. These are one of the many things i do my best to mentor them on due to me wanting them to know its okay to feel your emotions but you have to learn to express them in a positive way that wont hurt or be rude to others.
Seeing them incorporate these skills in their everyday life is very beautiful to me and makes me want to mentor and help other youth
