A little bit about me

Hi! My name is Kayla, and I’m 25 years old from Staten Island. I’m a teacher and all-star cheerleading coach with a background in early childhood education, special education, and supporting children with different needs.

I have a bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood and Childhood Education and a master’s degree in Special Education. I’m currently in my second year of teaching and my first year with the NYC Department of Education, teaching a self-contained kindergarten class. Before joining the DOE, I taught Pre-K and 3K and also held a director position at a private early childhood school.

I also have experience providing community habilitation and respite care, supporting individuals with disabilities with daily routines, independence, and participation in activities.

Outside of teaching, I coach competitive all-star cheerleading at Island Allstarz. I have several years of coaching experience and competed in cheerleading myself for 10 years.
